If you could look through my eyes,
You'd see a changed world.
Where there are no illusions
Where pain no longer has a way out.
If you could see through her eyes
You would know a mind that lives in silence,
Mother to one, Mother to all
She who holds the minds of many
And knows where their pain lies.
If you could see through his eyes
You would know why he keeps his secrets,
You would feel his fear and his pain
You would see what his people have endured
And what it took for them to change.
If you could see through other eyes,
You would know a world of differences
Where we all have come to change,
And you would weep for the beautiful imperfect ones
Who refuse to reach out, to understand.
If you could see past the barrier
And not out of, but in to, my eyes,
I would ask but a simple question.
When are we and who are the others?
What is a song that goes unheard?
But take your time and listen
Before you speak too quickly.
Because if you could see through my eyes
You and I might know the answer.
When are they--and who are we?
What music sings on silently?
Your writing here reminds me in part of
Eminem's song, "Beautiful"

i love reading your writing. :). all the other writers on here are too positive
I write how I see things haha, positive or negative, depending on the subject matter. And I know that song, Grace, and though I wasn't thinking of it at all when I wrote this I can definitely see the similarities.
